Bullying Prevention
In September we talked about building the skills needed to be successful students.  Our talks included doing a "homework portrait" drawing the time and place homework is done as well as who helps and if it is a noisy or quiet place or hot or cold.  We also discussed what good listening skills are.  The students know that if they are listening their teacher will know it because their eyes will be on her, they will be sitting quietly, thinking about and remembering what is being said and be ready to ask questions.

October is the month we will focus on bulling prevention.  Our first lesson will include a short "Bully Quiz" with a discussion about each answer.  Talk to your student about this quiz!

Back to School!
Week 1: Barnyard we will do a fun ice breaker with barnyard animals to start our discussion of building community.

Week 3: Torn Heart students will learn about empathy and build awareness of how their actions affect others.
