This month we will be focusing on respect. Many of these lessons include discussion of the golden rule, treating others the way we want to be treated.

Bullying Prevention
During September 1st grade focused on what skills they needed in order to be successful 1st grade students. Our first lesson included the book My Mouth is a Volcano by Julia Cook and we talked about the importance of not interrupting. Barney Bear came to visit the rest of the month to help the students learn about asking questions when they don't understand something and listening to instructions.
In October we will focus on bullying prevention. During our lesson this week will look at our differences and how each our differences makes us unique.

Back to School!
Week 1: Counseling Introduction after reviewing what the counselor's role is at school, we will use the Give Me Five poster to review the guidance rules. Eyes on the speaker, lips closed, ears listening, sit up straight and hands and feet quiet.
Week 2: Can Do Kid Students will identify personal strengths and assets.
Week 3: Following Rules Students will explore the classroom rules through drawing.
