In December K-4th grades spent our time together talking about how to be a good friend, while 5th graders continued their citizenship projects (which were very good!) This month K-5 will be focusing on appropriate ways to solve problems and manage anger.

Show Good Character!

During the month of November, K-5 classroom guidance lessons will focus on character education. Each grade level will focus on a different quality, taken from the Six Pillars of Character from the Character Counts program. Check your child's grade level to see which character quality they will be focusing on.

November is also the month our K-8th graders will be rewarded for showing the spiritual Fruit of Peace. Peace is a sense of well-being and fulfillment that comes from trusting in God. Colossians 3:15, "Let the peace of the Lord rule your heart."

National Bullying Prevention Month

As I am in and out of classrooms and walking through the building today it is good to see all the students in blue, taking a stand against bullying! October is National Bullying Prevention Month and throughout the month my classroom lessons will focus on just that, bullying prevention. Please take time to chat with your student on what to do if they are being bullied or if they see it happening to someone else.

Back to School!

Welcome back to another school year! I am very excited to be using this blog as a means of communicating what is happening with our guidance program.

During these first few weeks at school our theme is Back to School.
